- Bio: Gwendolyn Nelson was born September 8, 1922 to Axel and Julia (Juelson) Johnson at Bradish, Neb. Gwendolyn died on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove.
- Gwendolyn attended school at Newman Grove and graduated with the class of 1940. On December 28, 1941 she was united in marriage to Eudell Nelson. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Newman Grove.
- Gwendolyn and her husband farmed in the Newman Grove area for many years. After her husbands death in 1978 she moved to Newman Grove.
- Survivors are: sons, Leon Nelson and wife DeAnn of Newman Grove, Ralph Nelson and wife Linda of Hooper and Dwayne Nelson and wife Sheila of York; grandchildren, Cory, Ross, Kelli, Melissa, Amy and Casey; great-grandchildren, Alyshia, Brooke, Megan, Payton, Paige, Mason, Riley, Alyse, Aiden, Ethan, Evan, Mya, Maira and Cole.
- Gwendolyn was preceded in death by: husband, Eudell Nelson; sisters, Elvera and Marie and brothers, Rudolph, Harold, Vernon and LeRoy.
- Burial was in the Hope Cemetery, Newman Grove, NE.
